What would your Manifesto say?
I was thinking about this the other day... if you had to write your own manifesto what would it say? I don't think mine would be too controversial, but I definitely see major faults with our society. Mine would probably include the damaging effects of living in a materialistic society....I need to think about my answer more. I'm not really sure what mine would say.

How is being materialistic not 'too controversial?' Materialism is what makes the world go 'round. Capitalism is America's weapon of choice, and there's no way it could function if we lived in a object-minimalistic society. If nothing broke, we wouldn't need to hire people to fix it. If nothing ran out, we wouldn't need people to make it. Our entire economy and vision of success would crash because we would no longer have this dependence.
ReplyDeleteYou could write a great manifesto against capitalism; Marx took three volumes to do so in the Communist Manifesto. You know, this would be a fun assignment, wouldn't it?
